Kamaru Usman underwent knee surgery on Tuesday.
The newly crowned UFC welterweight champion took care of nagging issues with the knee in a procedure done at a Philadelphia hospital, and subsequently gave a still-groggy greeting to his fans via Insta-gram because he was only coming around.
“I presumed that is going to be like, I had knee surgery before, I presumed that is going to be like this,”” Usman mentioned. “This ain’t even at all. At all. This sh*t very different. ”
Usman won the title with a dominant performance at UFC 235, taking the belt out of tyronwoodley via unanimous decision on scores of 50-45, 50-44, 50-44. That indicated Usman’s 10th success in as many UFC struggles.
There’s no timetable yet on a return into the crate yet for Usman, who’s left his urge to fight top contender Colby Covington, with whom he had a episode at a vegas casino buffet following his success over Woodley.
“I’ll return very quickly, and setting a beating you understand that,” Usman mentioned.
