Only over two weeks out from his second fight, Ray Borg has a new competitor.
This is going to be Borg’s fight at 135 pounds from the Octagon.
Borg was seen challenging Demetrious Johnson for the UFC flyweight tournament on Oct. 7, 2017, losing to “Mighty Mouse” by submission in the fifth round. Just before that, Borg had won five fights and made a unanimous decision win over Jussier Formiga to reevaluate his way to a title shot.
The 25-year-old Arizona native was out of action since the Johnson fight since he’s had to deal with his child’s disease along with his own medical issues.
Phillips was featured as a cast member . He fell in the initial round of the season’s tournament to eventual winner Brad Katona and subsequently proceeded 1 1 straight back in the regional circuit, most recently beating Emeka Ifekandu via first-round KO at LFA 59.
Additionally reported by PhillyVoice, a middleweight bout between Kevin Holland (14-4) and also Gerald Meerschaert (29-10) was inserted to the card. Holland, a Philadelphia native, recently picked up his first UFC win with a third-round submission of John Phillips, while Meerschaert is coming out of a first-round submission loss to Jack Hermansson which dropped his UFC record to 4-2.
