The MotoE field was in Jerez for 3 times of preseason testing, and all 18 bicycles that had shot to the track for the opening day on Wednesday were burnt.
The fire is supposed to own began around 12.15am local time, completely engulfing the MotoE paddock structure that hosted the E-Go Corsa machines.
“A flame at the newly-built E-paddock has destroyed the vast majority of stuff for the FIM Enel MotoE worldcup,” a statement from the organisers read.
“The origin of the fire is now under investigation.
“Fortunately there haven’t been any harms. An upgrade will follow at the coming hours about the specific causes of the flame and some subsequent modifications to the calendar. ”
The championship was announced as last year as a brand new service category for MotoGP which could placed on shorter races of around 10 laps on grand-prix weekend Sundays.
The opening day of the Jerez test was topped with Avintia’s Eric Granado.
The championship’s most inaugural five-round season was put to kick during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend at Jerez on May 3 5.
