Scotland and Edinburgh full-back Blair Kinghorn says his”season has ended” following ankle surgery.
The 22-year-old limped away at Scotland’s 18-11 loss to Wales in the Six Nations last Saturday.
He’ll overlook Edinburgh’s Champions Cup quarterfinal with Munster on 30 March along with their push for its Pro14 playoffs.
“Surgery done and dusted. Frustrated my entire year is over, however currently looking forward to supporting the lads,” Kinghorn posted on societal networking.
Kinghorn scored a hat trick at Scotland’s opening Six Nations win over Italy a month while playing on the wing.
Dropped into the seat for another match against Ireland, he arrived to replace the wounded Stuart Hogg in full-back, and started in 15 against France and Wales.
Kinghorn has scored six tries in 11 evaluations for Scotland.
