The wording of the statement implies that the FIA may be conscious of one or more potential bidder who have been able to complete its proposal punctually.

Although no names are mentioned, 1 possibility is an F1 team is interested in chasing the contract.

The only famous bidder is x-trac, the company having supported its intention soon after the invitation had been issued.

“I think that it might be likely for people to submit a tender,” company president Peter Digby told Motorsport.com a month.

He subsequently admitted that the deadline was a challenge.

“It’SA tight timescale to work to,” Digby said. “We’ve got to submit an application from March 15 th, therefore that it ’SA quick amount of time. However, that’s engine racing, and we’re applied to tight time scales. ”

It’s understood that x-trac had its bid ready to go on Thursday, but has opted to take advantage of the change and await the new deadline.
