A pair of relatively unknown middleweights have an increase in exposure thanks to calamity striking Bellator 218.
(3-0) along with Will Lavine (1 1 ) have been promoted to Friday’s main card in WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., following a pair of bouts were canceled. MMA Fighting confirmed the headlines with officials after reports by MMAjunkie.
That middleweight bout was taken out of the lineup once a personal injury forced Shipman to draw and a heavy weight bout between Jeremy Hardy and Rudy Schaffroth was promoted from the preliminaries.
On Tuesday, officials confirmed that the Hardy-Schaffroth meeting was canceled after Hardy was involved in a car crash and that the Novenyi-Lavine struggle would now air on the home card.
Novenyi made a successful Bellator introduction in his native Hungary last April, defeating Mehmet Yueksel by first-round entry.
Lavine, 3 6, has collaborated after for Bellator back in January 2017, losing to Dominic Garcia via entry from the second round. In his second pro bout, he picked up a first-round knock-out of Zach Maguire. Bellator 218 will indicate Lavine’s first fight since June 20 17.
