Throughout the 2018 World Cup, seven-year-old Bella, from Dallas, Texas became an unlikely fan of Premier League side Huddersfield Town.
Why? Because Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy”looked as though her”.
Bella, who lost her hair during treatment for Medulloblastoma – a kind of brain cancer in kids – saw the World Cup with her dad and watched Mooy playing Australia.
“She had been excited to see a player who appeared to be her,” stated Bella’s mommy Lauren.
“She’s is really a pretty normal little girl who had some quite difficult circumstances pitched at her, but she has this amazing soul, and she has met each of these challenges with a smile in her face.
“We made a decision to arrange her a Mooy uniform, thinking she could put it on in Halloween, and sometimes even just for fun; something she could wear and hopefully not be worried about the simple fact she had lost her own hair … she loved it.”
Staff at Huddersfield watched a picture posted on societal media and encouraged Bella along with her family to meet Mooy and see him play against Leicester City at April.
The club’s commercial manager Sean Jarvis said:”Everyone at the club is now looking forward to welcoming Bella over on her behalf distinctive trip in April.
“Her narrative, and bravery, are extraordinary and she thoroughly deserves what should hopefully be a very special encounter.
“The simple fact that she relates with Aaron’s shaved head is really beautiful and when as Aaron heard, he shared his desire to accomplish something special to Bella and her family.”
