Here’s What the press seminar participants had to state Friday from MGM National Harbor:
“I know how to maintain the pressure off of myself until a fight. I understand we’re towards the top level and that I ’m facing a top guy.
He just has roughly 1-5 pro fights, but he was able to move throughout the positions pretty fast. That got my attention and lets you realize he’s most going coming to win.
“Anthony and now I’ve fought on cards but maybe not with this point for some time. I was nervous because of him, but at this point we’r e veterans and we’re only going to like it.
“From day we’Id treated each competitor such as a winner. We consistently had this mindset that we had to really go on the market and deal with business, also that’s not planning to change during Sunday night.
“Whenever that I fight at home, there’s only just a tiny bit more about it. There’s AType of home court advantage. I knew when they started this particular place, that I’d fight .
“I never felt as though that I was done fighting after my final fight, but you have to be smart. After every fight I assess the whole situation before I move on. This ’s exactly I did before that one and that I ’m so glad to be in this position. ”
I appreciate that Lamont took with this struggle. He’SA excellent fighter that I admire and that I ’m so sure ’so ready. I’m prepared to make this fight falls ever.
“I am aware a win over Lamont will get me the huge fights I’m looking for. I would like to be a winner at welterweight and that starts making an announcement on Sunday.
“I’ve a very challenging competition in front of me and that I ’m motivated by this challenge. I’m within this sport to stay the most significant and most useful fights. People today say that this is 50-50, so that I ’m so eager to demonstrate why I’theres better.
“This is a big fight. I have to have through Lamont to get at where I would like to really go. We’ll find out Sunday if they can stop me. I understand that should I do what I need to using Lamont, that will definitely set up me. ”
We’will get fun and be careful of business. I’m prepared to placed up a big operation. Don’t blink.
“I really like the rush to getting into the ring before my hometown, which ’therefore why I do it. The other material is cool, but that I only want to see people excited and telling me why that I put on a great performance.
“It’been a moment because I’ve been in the ring, but I’ve been fighting along with working together with men like Shawn Porter,” Jarrett Hurd, Robert Easter, Adrien Broner, Gervonta Davis along with My Cousin. I’ve been in there together with most of the fighters.
“My fire is still burningoff. I study boxing history and that I look at guys that have gotten their breaks in their careers, and that I know I’m some of the guys. ”
“& I ’m very happy to be here and to have that opportunity. Anthony Peterson is an excellent fighter, so that I ’m willing to be at my most useful to fight night. I’m here in order to continue winning and leave the fans having a excellent show.
“I’m glad to fight Anthony in their own hometown. I’t always been willing to travel anywhere across the planet for battles. It’so ordinary for me and that I ’m ready for everything that includes being the street warrior.
“then I plan on taking this out from their hands of the judges. I understand I have to perform just a tiny bit more to make sure that I have the win. Anthony is really just a good fighter, but that I ’t trained hard and this is my own moment. I would like to show the world how great I am. ”
His 0 has to go. I’m ready for whatever he’so definitely going to attract and that I ’m definitely going to wear a excellent operation for everyone watching.
I’m definitely going to get my talking in the ring and put to a practice from begin to finish. ”
BARRY HUNTER, Lamont and Anthony’s Trainer
“I would like to find the dog in Lamont in this fight. I would like to find the intelligent fighter he’s consistently been. I think that the rest has done him a lot of good. He’s got his head and his body right. He looked at me on day one and that I could tell he was prepared to roll.
“At the amateurs Lamont and Anthony used to share cards all of the time. Once they first started, we also did it often. It’s not unusual for us. It’s been a while, but it’s not a predicament we haven’t always been in. ”
