The guys ’s Challenge Cup quarter finals throw this weekend off at Russia, Romania, Belgium and Portugal, as eight teams vie for places at the penultimate point of the European Handball Federation’s third-tier international club competition.
This year, a number of seven nations are represented in this stage of the Challenge Cup. Russia count two nightclubs on the list of top eight: Dynamo-Victor and also H-C Neva SPb.
Dynamo-Victor reach the quarter finals for its 2nd consecutive time, after making their debut in international contests last season — once they were eradicated in this period. In the two-leg quarterfinal, Dynamo will meet Greek team A.E.K. Athens, that contested the trophy match last year but ended as runners-up.
H-C Neva SPb will visit their competitions, Belgian side H-C Vise B M, for that first leg. Vise have been history by qualifying for its quarter finals, as their previous best album was that the Challenge Cup Last 16. The first leg of this encounter will take place on Sunday March 24, and the next match will probably be played on March 3 1.
Madeira made it into the semifinals last season, where they were knocked out of this race to get its name by Athens. By comparison, Dicken are enjoying their inaugural season in European cup competitions. The first leg of this pairing is set for Sunday at Portugal, while the next encounter will take place on Saturday March 30 at Finland.
The last quarterfinal match-up sees Romanian club CSM Bucuresti accepting Bosnian club RK Borac mtel, with the first match this Saturday and the 2nd leg on March 30.
From every pairing, the stunt winner within the 120 moments of the two quarterfinal matches will proceed into the semifinals, to be played in late April.
