Earning the feather weight limit proved to be too tough a task for Luis Pena.
On Friday at the official UFC Nashville weigh-ins, the 6-foot-3 Pena (popularly known as “Violent Bob Ross”-RRB- arrived at 148.5 lbs, 2.5 pounds within the limit (including a normal one-pound allowance) because of his featherweight bout with Steven Peterson to morrow. It is Pena’s attempt to drop down to featherweight later rival six-times at lightweight to start his profession.
Per UFC officials, Pena is going to be fined 30% of his bag and the bout will likely probably proceed as a catch weight affair.
A stand out on whose time on the series was cut short by a foot injury, Pena is 5-1 with a win and a loss at the UFC. He defeated Richie Smullen by first-round submission at the Best Fighter 27 Finale, however missing a split decision to champion Mike Trizano at November.
