SAN FRANCISCO — To Kristaps Porzingis, the most difficult portion of adhering to the program because of his comeback comes after he steps into his closet before moving to the scene to get Dallas Mavericks games.
“Ohmygod, that is the hardest thing for me to wake up on game titles, proceed through shootaround with the team and then have to select a lawsuit to wear for the match,” Porzingis told ESPN in his initial sit down interview since the New York Knicks traded him to Dallas in early February. “I’m like, I don’t want to do this anymore. I hate my suits. Maybe not that I hate the suits, but I hate picking them to get the match day.
“It is so weird that I’m unable to — I’m able to, however I’m not playing with yet. It’s the match day and I feel like it’s the match day, however you just select a suit and also you also wear it and you’re there. And I strive to stay the moment when I’m there with the team and help as far as I can without being able to be on the floor, however it is extremely, very, very tough. Tougher than I Anticipated.”
He explained he believes great emotionally and physically and it has better athletic test results — even more power generated, more explosivenessand better lateral movement — more than he did before suffering the injury.
However, Porzingis will not play until next season, following the plan he consented to over a year ago in consultation with his most trusted advisers, including his older brother and representative Janis Porzingis and physical therapist Manolo Valdivieso.
The idea procedure is for Porzingis, 2 3, an All-Star last season, to spend the full year focusing on working on his own body and bio mechanics to maximize his potential to truly own a very long, wholesome career.
