OAKLAND, Calif. — Golden State Warriors celebrity Stephen Curry will not play Saturday night from the Dallas Mavericks following being given the game off to rest.

“Rick [Celebrini, Warriors manager of Sports Medicine and Performance] and I have been referring to it the past couple weeks,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said ahead of the game. “Steph is not there for all of us each and every game. And how he moves and also the energy he expends, he is just — it’s really a excellent night to provide him a night away in the back-to-back. So, tonight’s the night time, therefore we must ensure we cover our foundations without him.”

This will mark the 12th game of this season Curry has missed. Veteran point guard Shaun Livingston and longtime center Andrew Bogut will miss Saturday’s game to rest.

“More minutes for Quinn [Cook] without a doubt,” Kerr said of substituting Curry on Saturday. “And we will have Damion Lee up from the G League. We’ll play Andre [Iguodala] at any point shield. We’ll mix and fit. We’ll see what we’ve got. Kevin [Durant] along with Draymond [Green] can take care of the ball quite a little.

“However things will vary with no two major points guards, therefore you got in order to care for the ball and get organized, therefore this is the strategy .”

Kerr confessed that with another home game on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons, there might possibly be resting at the Warriors’ future.

“We will not know for sure what we’re going to do before after the game tonight,” Kerr explained. “But a lot more than likely, there will be some thing that happens to morrow but we’ll let you know then.”
