The Norwegian was likely to contest all 14 rounds this past year, but has been dropped out of the Corsica entrance in preference of asphalt pro Sébastien Loeb.

Dani Sordo will pilot the 3rd Hyundai I-20 in Argentina prior to handing around to Loeb for the championship’s newest round in Chile.

Hyundai has since won the championship’s Argentinian round twice  (in 2016 and 2017) while Chile can be a fresh challange. Hyundai manager Andrea Adamo thinks the crews he has selected can supply the team a bonus on both events.

“After looking at our lineup for these events we desired to give a mix of consistency and offer the possibility to our teams,” he said.

“Thierry and Andreas will engage in both events, also will be ready to compete at the highest level. For Dani, Argentina can be an essential rally, and we hope he will be able to demonstrate the same high rhythm and performance he revealed in Mexico.
