Preparations for its All New electric MotoGP support group were interrupted by an inferno in this month’s Jerez preseason test in which 18 of their series’ Energica E Go Corsa bicycles were destroyed along with much of these charging infrastructure.
Series promoter Dorna explained an electrical short circuit at the charging channel was the likely origin of the blaze, also that no one was injured.
The very first MotoE race had been slated to occur at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez on May 35, accompanied by another round at lemans two weeks later.
But a revised calendar issued Tuesday affirms that new championship will now not make its introduction until the German GP at the Sachsenring on July 5-7.
The schedule currently contains six races, with the next round taking place at the RedBull Ring in Austria, whereas double-headers at Misano and Valencia complete the calendar.
It remains unclear how the double header format will probably continue to work in Misano and Valencia, even though it’s likely that certain of the 2 races will have to happen on Saturday.
