Conor-mcgregor could be a once in a life kind of superstar but that doesn’t even mean that the UFC can’t even live without him.
Late Monday night, McGregor suddenly announced his retirement out of mixed martial arts — to the second time — and apparently stunned everyone with his choice. Most believe McGregor’s retirement is actually a negotiating strategy more than actually calling it a career but as of now, he’s saying he’s done with the game.
McGregor’s drawing power is undeniable with two fights against Nate Diaz and his recenty contest against Khabib Nurmagomedov counting for all the largest & most profitable pay-per-views in UFC history.
When the Irishman fights, it’s not merely a conference — it’s a spectacle that draws eyes from all around the world.
Still just as much as McGregor has meant to the game on the previous few years, UFC president Dana White states that the company will still discover a way to live without him just like theyrsquo;ve done before.
“I’ve been hearing that for 20 years,” White said when talking about TMZ roughly McGregor’s retirement. “I’ve been hearing that when every star is coming to the end of his career. People were saying that to me personally for 20 decades ago When we sold the provider, ‘Ari [e-manual ] paid too much and the UFC is dead now! Theyrsquo;re gonna find yourself a tv deal!
“First of all, no body knows what we’re working on. No body knows anything about this game. No One! Maybe not really the socalled experts because most of this material is brand new, every thing that we’do. We’ve already been the trailblazers in this business for the past 20 years and also we ’r e longing na be for the next 20 years, too. The items which individuals ’re working on is indeed huge and so next degree and it’s amazing while we have celebrities such as Georges st pierre and Anderson Silva and conor-mcgregor and Ronda Rousey. However, it’s part of sport. There’ll be others. ”
Of course the UFC would preferably have McGregor competing for them but White seems to be calling the former two-division winner ’s bluff in regards to all those demands he wants met to generate his return to actions.
McGregor continue fought October 2018 after he fell to Nurmagomedov by fourth-round entry and that came after nearly two years outside of this Octagon due to his high-profile boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.
By this moment, McGregor is steadfast in his retirement — at least he hasn’t even contradicted himself out of that initial declaration — but only time will tell whether he can make his return to the UFC.
