Henry Cejudo will proceed around 135 pounds to combat Marlon Moraes for the empty bantamweight championship at the most important event at UFC 238 around June 8 in Chicago.

News of the fight was announced by the UFC on Wednesday.

The matchup comes together after former winner T.J. Dillashaw relinquished his belt after ‘damaging ’ findings at a drug test obtained from his last fight in January. The New York State Athletic Commission suspended Dillashaw for a single year plus he opted to concede the name.

In the wake of this decision, Cejudo immediately pushed to the shot at the empty belt believing he knocked out Dillashaw straight in January at a flyweight title fight.

Now his wish has been allowed because the 2008 Olympic gold medalist will try to become the fourth fighter in UFC history to hold two names simultaneously (Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, and Amanda Nunes).

Meanwhile, Moraes secured his place at the name fight after four consecutive wins in the bantamweight division including a couple of knockouts against Aljamain Sterling along with Jimmie Rivera. Moraes subsequently submitted Raphael Assuncao in his last fight, avenging the only conquer he’s tasted in the past eight years.

Moraes was unsure whether he would get the title taken after Cejudo knocked out Dillashaw but the former winner being frozen for a year and handing the belt up helped clear the way for this struggle in the future together.

Cejudo vs. Moraes will headline that the UFC 238 fight card in Chicago with strawweight champion Valentina Shevchenko confronting Jessica Eye at the co-main event.
