Grala, 20, is excited about that weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race in RCR’s No. 21 Chevrolet, and he also has plenty of reasons to feel like that.
“It’s no secret that this will be the best Xfinity Series equipment I’t driven so far in my own career,” he said. “I was already excited to get this chance, however after seeing how nicely Tyler (Reddick) has completed in 2013, this is actually really a wonderful chance for me personally . ”
Grala made a total of 22 Xfinity Series starts last year forcing for 2 teams, and while he’s only slated to drive part time in 2013 again, he feels he’s got a great chance to reveal what he’s capable of on the track.
“I’m quite proud of what we accomplished this past year at FURY Race Cars and we had some excellent runs,” said Grala. “We made probably the most in what we had this past year, and my expectations for myself would be higher this year driving for RCR. ”
Whilst Grala hasn’t had the ability to race this season, he’s worked in the shop at Richard Childress Racing nearly every day since he came back with the team from Daytona last month.
“I really enjoy dealing with the team along with (crew chief) Justin Alexander can be a superb guy and very knowledgeable about the cars, that’ll just help me,” said Gralasaid “He’s already helping me get ready my first race with the team and that I will ’t even wait. ”
The second-generation driver has also spent a great deal of time in both the RCR and Chevrolet racing simulators, and he’s driving for that team which not only fields the No. 21 Chevrolet in the Xfinity Series, but also the No. 3-1 part time team from the Cup Series.
“I’t already driven over 175 laps of rivalry in the simulator together along with Justin additionally helping me during those sessions,” Grala added.
Grala has one Xfinity Series beginning at Texas Motor Speedway and a pair of top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Trucks Series, emphasized with a sixth-place ending in 20 17.
