Leicester Tigers’ Scotland back row David Denton will not play this season as he recovers from concussion.
The 29-year-old have not played 6 October when he was hurt in the 23-15 Premiership win over Northampton.
“He is disappointed to not be on the market with the lads but understands the value of the circumstance and his long term health.”
Denton, a summer signing from Worcester, had started all six of Leicester’s games before his injury from the match at Twickenham.
“It’s been a tricky season plus something I wish I could have played a much bigger role in along with the remainder of the squad,” added Denton to the club website.
“It’s been a frustrating time for me to the sidelines but this decision lets me some clarity, which is fine, and I will aim towards return to full fitness to earn a major impact next season.
“Concussion is a serious thing and I am very appreciative about the medical team at the club and also pros I’ve consulted to get their understanding and care during the season.”
