As opposed to view losing because of negative setback, Cowan sees it being a boon in disguise, then one that will help her in the future.

“In hind sight of all of the wonderful things that have happened to me, (losing ) was probably the most useful thing that could have happened to me,” Cowan told MMAWeekly.com. “I had been on a quick trail — probably just a touch too fast — and now that I just needed some time inside there.

“That loss type of slowed me down a moment and reminded me I’m not as so invincible, and also no matter how good things are moving anybody can lose on any given day. It turned out to be a good little reality check to mepersonally. (ever since then) I moved there and got 2 knock outs, and that had been fun, also we’ll see exactly what happens next. ”

Having come from a non-combat sports backdrop, Cowan is true in the process of developing her MMA individuality, but feels just like things are progressing well along with also her previous athletic experience has contributed to the transition.

“& I ’m so much more than a lot of girls at this level, so that I ’m learning super-fast,” said Cowan. “& I ’m improved in every area, in every subject.

“I know the value of subject simply because from the time that I had been six years old. I know how to teach and know very well what it takes. That’s something lots of fighters have to learn the hard way. It’s helped a lot. The fundamental strength and understanding of my body that I learned in gymnastics is some thing that has helped too. ”

On March 29 in Belton, Texas,” Cowan (2 1 ) will look to pick up her third win in a row if she strikes Sarah Click (2-2) in a principal card 125-pound bout at LFA 63.

“I’ve got a little bit of an alternative type of muaythai compared to hers,” Cowan said of Click. “I do a little bit more of a Dutch style. I’m type of excited to see just how she responds to someone who is not going to just stand facing her. I’m definitely going to use a lot of forwards, backwards, and lateral movement . ”

Having struck speed bumps while on the fast track earlier, Cowan is currently just looking to simply take things as they come along and see what opportunities appear after every fight.

“Obviously I’ve got some larger objects that I would like to reach and goals I would like to accomplish. I only signed a new contract using LFA, also I’d really like to finish this contract by the close of the season. ”
