That is where he gobbled up eight interceptions in two seasons to position himself as the latest first-round draft talent to become churned from LSU’s corner back factory.

That is also where he has an insatiable desire to be deemed that the best. When asked at ’ pro day when he believes he could be the top cornerback in this season’s draft, Greedy responded with a huge grin and an incredulous,”What?! What?!” Before entering a speech about how a”stats don’t lie.”

And the football field is really at which Greedy moved into work, hoping to use his own ability to make a better life for his family — including his own 2-year-old kid, Khloe, and his mother, Lakesha , one parent who raised four children in a few of the roughest areas of Shreveport, Louisiana, until she ended up marrying Greedy’s youth football trainer.

The actual story is that Andraez became known as”Greedy” when he was 1 month old.

Nevertheless, it did not take long until he even started living upto the hype which accompanies a name similar to that. Despite the fact that teams did not throw the ball substantially at the age, Bryant said that they liked to conduct wide across the edges. And not one of them could get around Greedy.

“I knew his time will come, because he simply wanted it. He’d wanted it badder than anyone,” explained Greedy’s older brother, Rodarius, that plays cornerback at Oklahoma State. “From him that hard worker and needing to be greedy — he’s got the perfect name, because he gave up on anything.”

Rodarius, that is one year older, naturally boasted that he used to be at Greedy in everything from sports to video games,”you name it.” But he said that simply generated Greedy nagging him with demands like,”Let us try it , let’s do it . You can’t ever beat me time. Play me .”

“In case you see that fire in his own eyes the first time he touched on a football, man it had been astonishing,” explained Rodarius, that was nick named”Lee Lee” growing upward. “We noticed him from the house because they chased out the home. After we simply watched him run up and down the field, I am like,’Is he really doing so?’ He had been just running over the young guys.”

Even more astonishing was the way Greedy’s involvement with football wound upward changing the whole family.

Lakesha had her first girl at age 14.

“Single mommy, young mother, on assistance from the government, home support. We were simply going from — I figure that I predict it from one’hood into yet another’hood,” explained Lakesha, who clarified Greedy’s biological dad to be in and out of the own entire life.

However, Greedy’s passion for football and premature victory in the activity gave something to rally around. Rodarius started playing soon after, too.

Best CB draft prospect Greedy showed his confidence off, among other skills, at LSU’s pro day Friday. Video from Mike Triplett.

Afterward a largest transformation came a couple of years later, when Lonnie became both a trainer and father. “Since he developed me, allow me to view the larger picture, there’s other things in life. We did not know what going out of town has been before we met him. So we were taking trips and getting right in sports, and I must learn about sports and got more involved.

“Along with Greedy — I’d say he’s the protagonist, too. Because he would examine the children practicing football and said he needed to play football, too. And I’d say after that it changed our lives.”

Not only did they move into a better locality together, but also the boys credit Lonnie for helping teach them how to be men — and also to be fathers. (Rodarius is hoping his first girl to be born this week.) Lonnie was likee an anchor to the household when Lakesha fought cancer about 10 years ago. The remainder of the family believes Lakesha a fanatic also.

“She has been of our rock. I don’t know what I’d do with her… I do believe at the time they wanted me and that I needed them. That slowed me down just a bit, because I became more of a family man,” stated Lonnie, that runs the X-Press Sports youth apps in Shreveport, where he coached fellow LSU first-round draft potential Devin White for being a basketball player on Greedy’s teams when they were at junior high.

“It is still sort of mad if you ask me. “Just from working at a hotel to taking care of 4 children, day in and day out, which makes sure we had everything that we need. Man, she did a marvelous job simply staying on us and making certain we did not wind up like other people we were besieged by, at which we all climbed up from.

“I am simply lost for words, man. I don’t know how she did it.”

Greedy already bought his amazing grandmother her very first group of furniture recently, which touched Lakesha a long time. But he has even bigger plans for his mom once he has his very first signing bonus.

“That is my motivation right there,” Greedy said. “Just watching my mom struggle for to work, to take care of four children on her own. Just watching things like that as a young child just makes you need to take this position where I am at to be in a position to just provide her world.

“Give her anything she wants, because she deserves ithard she worked for us.”

As for Khloe, whose name is tattooed across the top half of Greedy’s spine, she could have”the entire [bank] account when she needs it.”

Greedy and White both have big plans to return into this”318,” too, as soon as they begin their promising livelihood. The both of them have become close since they first met around age 12, each describing the other as a”brother.”

“I trust Greedy along with my life, man,” White said. “In case you cut him I could emphasise. That is how close we are together.

In January, draft analysis Mel Kiper Jr.’d Greedy projected while the No. 4 overall pick in his first mock draft, comparing the 6-foot-2,” 185-pounder into Aqib Talib. But earlier this week,” Kiper had him all the way down at No. 29 at his latest draft, explaining,”there are questions about his willingness to undertake and about his fluidity in coverage.”

Greedy, that was simply a second-team Associated Press allamerican last season and also a firstteam selection by a few other organizations, has heard questions about his tackling from teams also.

However, his answer is the fact that he wasn’t asked to tackle that much as a man to man corner at college.

“I am not scared to tackle,” Greedy said. “Look, I am coming with complete force. You put me at a Cover 2 zone, you will realize the way I struck. As I told the scouts, you put me in Cover two and also that tight end runs at the corner, I’ll explain to you what I can do.”

Greedy said he will play wherever teams want him to line up. But he does think of man to man coverage his strength as he displayed at a signature performance last season against Ole Miss recipient D.K. Metcalf, among the others.

“man to man, I will shut down anybody,” explained Greedy, who clarified his own bravado as”that I’m.”

“A guy who can talk and back it up,” Greedy said. “I’ve got that confidence within me. When I state it, I’ve got to do it, I’ve got to establish it. So this has been demonstrated.”

His other drills at LSU’s pro day weren’t quite too elite, but he said he had been content with his operation.

Regardless of where he has hitched following month, Greedy and the family are already an inspiring success story. Each four of Lakesha’s children graduated high school, and three of those went into college — the kind of life that she wanted to allow them once she wasn’t able to complete school.

And currently a household that didn’t”know what going out of town was” will become together in Nashville, Tennessee, the following month to the draft.

“It will not really feel real, really,” Lakesha said. “I am just happy, I really am. I am very happy for him most of all, because he worked hard for it.

“He deserves every single moment, every single spotlight. Whatever it is, he deserves it.”
