Carl Frampton is prepared to fight with WBO world champion Oscar Valdez this summer as he strikes a route back to the top of this featherweight division.

Former two-weight world winner Frampton has decided to extend his career by signing a multi-fight deal with promoters Best Rank having originally contemplated retirement in the aftermath of his loss to Josh Warrington.

Frampton could also face WBA winner Leo Santa Cruz for another period however, the Belfast fighter said he won’t come back to the ring until late July because he waits for the conclusion of his legal dispute with former promoter Barry McGuigan.
