“I want to put my family first at the moment, and cricket’s secondary into this. We are going to get that sorted and I can pay attention to cricket.”

Willey didn’t contain in some one of England’s recent one day run against the West Indies, but remains hopeful they can play during this summer’s World Cup.

“Within the previous 18 months to two decades, it’s shown when I am playing everyday cricket I play my best cricket,” he explained.

“To perform at the accumulation to this is likely to soon be brilliant for me, and hopefully it puts my name at the forefront of the captain and also the selectors’ heads.

“Nothing is nailed on (with all World Cup selection), and you never quite know where they’re going to move.”
