After a disappointing season in Australia, Ferrari bounced straight in Bahrain since Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc comfortably topped the 2 clinic sessions on Friday.

However, whilst the SF90’s pace looked impressive, team principal Mattia Binotto remains cautious — since he demonstrated that Ferrari used more powerful engine settings than its competitors.

“” I think the delta you may see to others is not overly significant, and that I think tomorrow it will certainly be described as a more tough battle,” he explained. “Others will be quite strong tomorrow.

“I think that it is very obvious, and also you often see the GPS data and out of the speed to the straights, we’re certainly pushing different engine styles in contrast to what others were doing today. Therefore I’m expecting a very hard battle tomorrow. ”

He added: “” I believe the results of today are misleading.

“However certainly, for exactly what we’ve ever seen today, the situation is different to that which we now ’ve ever seen in Australia. Which means that we’Id improved compared to Australia.

“However we must focus on our car based on the feeling and also the data we all ’ve got today. ”

Ferrari’so decision to turn its engine up is most likely related to its effort to get into the underside of the problems which were subjected in Australia in addition to check the alterations which the team has created for this weekend.

“” I presume we improved our position after Australia, also this one is a pretty different track,” added Binotto.

“So let’s express that individuals usually would not possess at least the issues we suffered in Australia by virtue of the trail onto 1 side and as a result of some alteration we made. That is the place we must begin from. ”
