While Andrea Dovizioso and Jack Miller Guaranteed Ducati locked out the top Twice during Friday’s running at Termas de Rio Hondo, Petrucci Finished up down at 13th place.
It accompanied a crash in Turn 1 during the morning’s opening session, and this united with an issue in his spare bike left the rider down in 20th location.
“nonetheless it was the worst afternoon since I have joined the [factory] Ducati team,” Petrucci admitted.
“I made a mistake this morning attempting to push as much as you possibly can and maybe the trail was not ready and that I crashed because there was not so much grip.
“& I ’m not happy, but I am sure we can recover the time and stay closer towards front. ”
Speaking in greater detail concerning the crash, he included: “Quite strange. Front [wheel] locked, this happens once you don’t have lots of grip track.
I lost the atmosphere, we’ve to change setup, thus a great deal of things.
“I was so unlucky that whenever I crashed and that I came back to the pits, so I switched bikes and the second bike had a issue. I lost the last three, four rebounds that I can have [in FP1]. ”
Dovizioso left it late at FP2 to pip Miller by just 0.009 seconds and head up the timesheets at a course that has not favoured Ducati in recent decades.
The 20 17 and’18 runner-up announced himself”very happy” with the end result, highlighting that the improvement the Bologna marque has made in the last 12 weeks, but considers the pace Saturday is likely to be even faster.
“I was surprised, but position is not important, particularly when we have become close,” explained Dovizioso. “That’therefore not exactly the idea.
“It’s fine to be in the top 10; ” I think [on Saturday] the trail may be faster, I don’t understand if it’ll be sufficient, which laptime, to be at the top 10.
“Our base is so good, therefore that I was able without compelling a whole lot to own a good laptime and that provide us the chance to focus with a set of setup.
“We were able to boost just a little bit the sense, but the grip on the rear is not just a lot, and we have to attempt to improve just a little bit”
Asked when he expected a replica of Qatar’s frenetic pack race Argentina, he answered:”I don’t think therefore, too as the [tyre] consumption here is less than Qatar.”
