For the second struggle in arow, Justin Gaethje capped off a most important affair with a highlight reel — that period snuffing Edson Barboza within the first circular in Philadelphia.
Gaethje has a reputation for always gaining memorable performances however with backtoback endings against Barboza and James Vick, he’s starting to climb up the light weight ranks as well.
While he wasn’t in the mood to call anybody out in special — out lamenting that Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone somehow jumped him at the ranks only lately — Gaethje knows he’s on an eventual crash course with light weight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“My wrestling, how you men harbor ’t seen it , I wrestled for 22 decades, the very last game I wrestled was in that particular arena. The NCAA championship, I lost, and I was very excited to come back. ”
You could not understand it centered on his normal game plan to march forwards and assassinate his competitor ’s chin with punches but Gaethje had been a Division I NCAA allamerican wrestler in Northern Colorado.
Knowing that he’s got that wrestling in his disposal, Gaethje has believed he could give Nurmagomedov nightmares in the event the undefeated Russian wasn’t able to haul him to the mat.
For the time being, Gaethje might need to keep his rise up the ranks before he gets to a title shot plus it sounds like he’s eager to handle whomever the UFC places in front of him.
It could be one, it might be Nate [Diaz], it might be Donald [Cerrone], it might be Khabib [Nurmagomedov]. ”
