Mick Schumacher, son of Formula 1 great Michael, sits in the Formula 2 standings after his introduction weekend at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Even the 20-year-old German finished eighth in race one on Saturday, which he started pole in Sunday’s second race afterwards grid places were reversed.

On Sunday, Schumacher came sixth in the sprint race, obtained by Luca Ghiotto.

Italy’s Ghiotto occupies top position in the standings contributing into the Azerbaijan grandprix on 28 April.

Schumacher Jr, that pushes for Prema Racing, took eight things out of the opening weekend and sits 29 points behind leader Ghiotto.

The German began the second race pole thanks to this inverse grid system for its top eight finishers of race one.

His dad is the sole driver in history to win seven F1 titles, and has the all-time list of 9 1 grand prix victories.

The 50-year-old, that retired from f 1 for a second time at the end of 2012, hasn’t been seen in public since enduring severe brain injuries in a skiing accident in December 2013.

His son will test together with the Ferrari and Alfa Romeo F1 teams in Bahrain on Tuesday.
