Demetrious Johnson was victorious in his ONE Championship debut on Sunday.
The prior UFC flyweight king has been matched up against Yuya Wakamatsu in a flyweight grandprix quarter-final bout at ONE: New Era in Tokyo, Japan, and got the conclusion from the second round. After a competitive opening around, “Mighty Mouse” proceeded to your takedown and worked using a choke from the mount, but Wakamatsu was able to fight it through.
Seconds later, Johnson took good advantage of the different ruleset to land several knees to the head of a grounded Wakamatsu before locking in a guillotine choke that pushed the 24-year-old Japanese fighter to exploit in Tokyo.
“I only kept on attaining and I found a real fine guillotine. He went to the shot, I put my hips in and he had been hanging onto my leg and that I gave it over a skate to find this finish. I don’t understand if he went outside or not because he exploited and he then woke up and had been such as ‘exactly what happened, what happened? ’ Could ’t wait for that following round. ”
