England batsman Sam Billings suffered a shoulder injury just minutes into his first match for Kent this season, against Glamorgan in Cardiff.

Billings, back from Indian Premier League duty, was hurt attempting to make a stop in the first over.

He was prone for several minutes before being helped off.

Billings is in the England squad to face Ireland in the summer’s first one-day international and Pakistan in a Twenty20 international in Cardiff.

Australia batsman Matt Renshaw returned from back trouble for the injury-hit visitors.

Glamorgan, who chose to bat, give a debut to all-rounder Jeremy Lawlor, 23, in place of the injured Craig Meschede.

Both sides are without a win so far at the bottom of the South Group.
