Thomas Bryant has agreed to a three-year, $25 million deal to return to the Washington Wizards, agent Todd Ramasar told .

Bryant was one of the few bright spots in an othere difficult season for a Wizards team that lost John Wall in January and finished 32-50 overall.

Claimed off waivers from the in July, the 6-foot-11 center made the most of a new opportunity, averaging 10.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in 72 games (53 starts). He shot 61.6% from the field, the highest single-season mark in Wizards history. And he even showed the ability to make some 3-pointers, connecting on 33 for the season.

Bryant struggled with consistency and on defense, where his 1.00 defensive plus-minus rating ranked 48th of 72 centers in the league. But the athletic 21-year-old showed plenty of upside in his first full season in the league.

Bryant, a second-round pick in the 2017 draft, was a restricted free agent, so the Wizards had the right to match any deal for him.
