Rafael dos Anjos, a former lightweight champion who has won four of his last six fights at welterweight, faces Leon Edwards, who has won seven straight, in the main event.

Round 1: Edwards opens up with a front kick as he holds the centre of the Octagon. 40 seconds in Edwards takes dos Anjos down. Dos Anjos looks to use butterfly guard as Edwards looks to pass and eventually secures half guard, landing a big elbow. Edwards evades a sweep attempt from the Brazilian and continues to smother him from top half guard. With two minutes left on the clock, Edwards takes the back. Dos Anjos works backs to his feet. Dos Anjos marches forward and forces Edwards against the fence. Dos Anjos lands crisp low kicks, Edwards answers with a big elbow. Dos Anjos continues to chip away at the lead leg. The round finishes with Edwards looking to land another takedown.

Round 2: Dos Anjos lands a glancing left hand 30 seconds in, Edwards replies with a right hook. Dos Anjos backs Edwards up, landing a left hand to the body. Dos Anjos stuffs a single leg attempt. The duo jostle for position against the fence with Dos Anjos exiting with an elbow. Edwards lands a left elbow. Two minutes in Dos Anjos attempts a double leg, pushing Edwards’ back to the fence. Edwards lands another left elbow over the top. A cut opens up over Dos Anjos’ right eye. Dos Anjos continues to press forward and forces Edwards to his back with a well-timed low kick. Dos Anjos establishes half guard top position, but Edwards eventually gets back to his feet. Edwards targets Dos Anjos eye with his jab. The cut appears to be bleeding into dos Anjos’ eye at the end of the round.

Round 3: Referee calls a doctor to assess dos Anjos cut at the beginning of the round. He is allowed to continue. Dos Anjos loads up on kicks to the body and heavy right hands, but doesn’t land. He rips a kick to Edwards leg and Edwards gives him one back. Edwards stuffs multiple takedowns as Dos Anjos chains together techniques. Edwards lands two clean left hands reopening his cut. As the two clinch, dos Anjos lands a knee to the body and Edwards lands with another elbow. Edwards continues to land his left hand with precision. With two minutes left on the clock dos Anjos shoots for another takedown, which is stuffed by Edwards. Edwards gets warned for grabbing the fence. Edwards lands a nice uppercut but dos Anjos lands a counter left at the same time. Dos Anjos gets turned on the fence after forcing the action there. Edwards lands another left elbow just before the end of the round.

Round 4: Edwards gets the better of the early exchanges over the first minute before dos Anjos lands a big kick to the body. Dos Anjos goes back to the leg kicks, but Edwards keeps the jab in the Brazilian’s face. Dos Anjos presses the action, appears to putting more zip on his punches. Dos Anjos lands a good body shot at the midway point of the round. Dos Anjos lands a left over hand and Edwards replies with an elbow. Edwards takes dos Anjos down off a flying knee attempt as the round approaches its final minute. Edwards works to his back. Dos Anjos escapes and looks to land a single leg, but Edwards reverses the position on the fence.
