Swedish light heavyweight talent Karl Albrektsson is heading to Bellator, as he signed a deal to compete for the North American company. MMA Fighting confirmed the news following a report by The Sun.

A date and opponent for Albrektsson’s promotional debut is yet to be set, Bellator officials said.

Albrektsson (9-2), who went 2-0 inside the Superior Challenge cage in 2018, is coming off an unanimous decision victory over Christiano Frohlich at Rizin 15, improving to 3-1 as a light heavyweight in Rizin.

“King”, who holds a split decision win over Bellator contender Vadim Nemkov, told The Sun he’s out to dominate the division in the United States.

“I’m looking forward to putting the hurt and pressure on my opponents, make them tired, grind them and finish them,” Albrektsson said. “That’s what I look to do every time I step out there. I want to be unpredictable but I will always try to put on an entertaining show. I will do my best to do that and my fighting style is aggressive.”
