New Orleans Pelicans forward Darius Miller is expected to miss seven to eight months after suffering a ruptured right Achilles tendon, a source told ’s Malika Andrews.

The Pelicans announced Thursday that Miller had undergone surgery in City earlier in the day for the injury.

The source told Andrews that Miller suffered the injury while playing 3-on-3 basketball. He is scheduled to begin rehab next week and start practicing in five to six months, the source said.

Miller averaged 8.2 points in 69 games for the Pelicans last season.
