Round 1: Marc Goddard the third man in the Octagon for this fight. Hermansson shoots in for a takedown right away. Cannonier gets his back to the fence, heels back, and he’s out of danger. After some low kicks are traded, Hermansson gets in for the body lock again and lands a beautiful German suplex. He’s controlling from the back, but Cannonier is defending and scrambling and he’s up. Cannonier blocks a trip. He just misses with a knee and an uppercut, Hermansson has to get out of there. Cannonier getting clipped with leg kicks as he walks forward. Single leg by Hermansson is stuffed. Cannonier finding a home for his leg kicks. Hermansson with little in the way of striking volume, though he scores with a knee off of an aborted takedown attempt. Jabs by Hermansson are scoring. Cannonier responds with a jab and leg kick of his own. Inside leg kick by Cannonier lands clean and he’s using good head movement to avoid punches. Close first round.

Round 2: Cannonier catches Hermansson with a counter-uppercut as Hermansson shoots in. Hermansson drops to his back and he’s in survival mode. Cannonier patiently gets into position to start throwing ground-and-pound and as he pours it on, Goddard has to wave it off.
