IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa together with EHF President Michael Wiederer met with the president and representatives of the European Handball Players Union at the IHF headquarters in Basel on Monday to discuss player-related topics.

The agenda points focused on player workload including rest days, match schedules at events and safeguarding top players. 

‘’We are pleased to hear the players; who are the main source of our sport. We appreciate their role and will exert all efforts to safeguard them,” said Dr Moustafa.

EHPU President and former Danish national team member Michael Sahl Hansen was joined by Vice President Marcus Rominger (GER) along with current players and EHPU representatives Uwe Gensheimer (GER), Mikael Appelgren (SWE) and Bo Spellerberg (DEN).

“The meeting was very productive. IHF and EHF leadership together with the EHPU were able to exchange ideas and proposals that will greatly benefit our sport,” added Moustafa.
