By Sean Jones: Gennady Golovkin lectured the media on Wednesday about their constant questions about Saul Canelo Alvarez during the media round-table. This was supposed to be the media asking former ibf/wba/WBC middleweight champion Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs) about his fight this Saturday night against Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KOs) at madison square garden in new york, but instead if became a grilling session by the media in peppering GGG with questions on Canelo Alvarez.
Golovkin needs to set boundaries with the Canelo questions
For future Q & A sessions with the media, Golovkin should skip over Canelo questions or at least limit them.

Golovkin says Canelo had no option but Kovalev
Golovkin is right about Canelo not having any other option for his next fight other than Sergey Kovalev. Given the huge $365 million contract that Canelo has with dazn, they want him to fight the elite level fighters to bring in the subscribers. dazn was hoping that Canelo would fight Golovkin in a trilogy match on September 14. Instead of doing that, Canelo decided that he wanted to face the fading 36-year-old Kovalev (34-3-1, 29 KOs) for his WBO 175-lb title.
