The bout was officially announced on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday and confirmed by a Combate Americas official.
El Patron, the son of famed Mexican luchador Dos Caras and a multiple-time world champion for various pro-wrestling promotions including the wwe, CMLL, and Impact Wrestling, will compete in MMA for the first time since February 2010.
A former Olympic wrestling hopeful representing Mexico, the 42-year-old El Patron owns a 9-5 MMA record, with his first fights taking place in Japan where he once suffered a first-round knockout loss to Mirko Cro Cop.
Ortiz and El Patron will be in new york on Tuesday and Wednesday for media appearances. As of yet, no co-main event has been announced for the Dec. 7 show, which will take place on pay-per-view at an announced price of $39.99.
