The budding rivalry between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya isn’t cooling down anytime soon.

Jones, the UFC’s reigning light heavyweight champion, and Adesanya, the UFC’s newly crowned undisputed middleweight champion, have been embroiled in a war of words for months now.

On Monday during an interview with ESPN, “The Last Stylebender” reaffirmed his plans to eventually move up a division after defending his own belt and challenge Jones.

Reacting to Adesanya’s comments, Jones issued a series of replies on Twitter in which he referred to Adesanya as “a bitch,” “a f*cking nerd,” and a “bitch ass.”

Adesanya unified his interim title with Robert Whittaker’s undisputed title this past Saturday at UFC 243 in Melbourne, Australia, defeating “The Reaper” via TKO in round two. Though nothing is set in stone, Adesanya has an existing feud with top middleweight contender Paulo Costa that both fighters seem agreeable to resolving in the near future.

As for Jones, while he recently teased a fight announcement, he does not currently have an opponent officially lined up. In his last outing at UFC 239 in July, Jones defeated Thiago Santos by split decision to record his second consecutive successful defense of the light heavyweight championship and 10th overall.
